Look Through The Storms (George Harrison – Blow Away)

Some days, I wake up, feeling completely free of all the worries that push down on my shoulders. My soul and mind become aware of the beautiful world that awaits me as the glorious morning sun spills through the spaces in the bedroom blinds, where it falls silently and weightlessly onto the wooden floor, then slowly climbs up the foot of the bed until it finally peaks over the edge of the mattress where it flows forward like a rushing river that crashes peacefully against the side of my left arm, cheek, and ear. The dam doesn’t hold back her warmth for very long, and soon she reaches the tip-top of my nose; cascades down my right side, covers my entire body, she envelops me in another day of new beginnings.

Still, it is very easy to forget that the sun is always there. Even when we believe we cannot see her; she is there, waiting for us to find her again.

One of my favorite songs that reminds me that every moment is an awakening experience, if we so choose to let it be, is Blow Away by George Harrison. The song was a successful single from his self-title 1979 album. The message is so simple, yet often so difficult to remember and experience in those sudden downpours we often find ourselves in. But if you do remember the message; you can easily find your way back to the warmth of the morning sun—a fresh start whenever you wish.

p.s. pay attention to George’s facial expression at 44 seconds into the video.

Lyrics:

Day turned black, sky ripped apart
Rained for a year ’til it dampened my heart
Cracks and leaks
The floorboards caught rot
About to go down
I had almost forgot.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it’s got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.

Sky cleared up, day turned to bright
Closing both eyes now the head filled with light
Hard to remember what a state I was in
Instant amnesia
Yang to the Yin.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it’s got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.

Wind blew in, cloud was dispersed
Rainbows appearing, the pressures were burst
Breezes a-singing, now feeling good
The moment had passed
Like I knew that it should.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it’s got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.
